Peter Hammond

Peter Hammond Well...

But we are not going to let a little snow get us down. Even though that picture was of the >last< storm a few days ago, and we are supposed to get another foot on top of it tonight and tomorrow. And we have killer icicles...

None of these stop us from doing the puzzle! A puzzle that I enjoyed...the theme was triple ended stuff, like 20A LISBON BONBON (Chocolate candy from Portugal?). Rex hated it, and I can see why, but somehow I didn't notice his complaints as I was doing it. I kind of liked the medium length fill, I guess, like 5D CORN COB (Pipe material for Frosty the Snowman) and 24A APE MAN (Missing link, possibly) and 41D ICED OVER (Freeze up).

It was corn cob that did us in, actually...it was sitting there as "corn ccb", which is an obvious typo. The cross was ROO (Milne hopper), which we had a s "roc" so a pure typo...not a crossing error. Took us 2 minutes to find. ugh. I guess Frosty is a good theme for the day, though.
